This is the least coverage the law requires. It often isn’t enough to pay for a serious accident, and anything above your limits can come out of your own pocket.

- Personal injury protection (PIP)
- $5,000 first-party medical benefits
- Uninsured motorist coverage
- Insurers must offer it; you can reject it in writing
Choice no-fault: you pick limited or full tort. UM/UIM must be offered and can be rejected on signed statutory forms.
