This is the least coverage the law requires. It often isn’t enough to pay for a serious accident, and anything above your limits can come out of your own pocket.

- Insurers must offer it; you can reject it in writing
UM must match BI. If you buy only minimum liability, UM can be reduced to zero after signing an advisory notice. UM property damage can be rejected in writing.
